What is Abode?

My name is Alex and I am the co-founder and head of guest experience at Abode. Abode was founded with one goal in mind, to provide travelers the feeling of home wherever they may go. Whether for work or leisure, Abode provides artfully designed and furnished homes that allow our guests to live like locals, but with all the amenities and services of a boutique hotel.


Where can I find my reservation confirmation number?

This is provided by the website on which you placed your reservation. It can typically be found in your confirmation email that you received at the time of booking.


How do I check-in? Will someone be there to meet me?

While no one will be at the building to meet you, in the days prior to your arrival we will email you a copy of our easy to use guidebook that outlines our check-in process in detail, along with the necessary information you will need to access the building and your rental. This way you can arrive at your convenience and avoid the stress of being “on time” in the event of any pesky unexpected travel delays. If you have any issues with your arrival process, we're on standby to assist.


Is it possible to check-in early?

While our standard check-in time is 4 pm, we can offer a check-in time as early as 1 pm, upon request and availability. We accomplish this for you by scheduling additional cleaning staff to prepare the home in half the time of our standard preparation while being able to maintain the same high level of quality. Due to the added cost we do charge a slight fee, which varies based on the check-in time you select. Please notate your desired check-in time when completing our pre-arrival registration to learn more.


Do you offer parking?

Sadly at this time we cannot offer parking at this location. If you would like some recommendations on where to park we'd be happy to help so please contact us to inquire further.


Is there anywhere to leave my luggage before or after my stay?

Sadly, there is not. Neither building representatives nor our employees are able to accept or store any personal items on your behalf as unfortunately we do not have a secure and accessible place to store it. We do apologize for any inconvenience this may cause.


Is it absolutely necessary that I list all of my guests and/or visitors?

Great question! Due to the security requirements of our buildings, some of which are staffed with onsite doorman or courtesy personnel, it is imperative that we are provided with this information prior to your arrival or the arrival of any of your guests or visitors. But don’t worry, we make the process as seamless as possible and all of this information can be provided here in our pre-arrival registration above.


Are there any other steps in this process?

Nope, this is it! Once this process is complete and your pre-arrival information has been reviewed you’ll receive our easy to follow house manual along with all of the information you, and your guests, will need to access your new home.


I REGULARLY STAY IN SHORT TERM RENTALS AND this is the first time I’ve BEEN ASKED to complete a process SIMILAR to THIS. Is this A REQUIREMENT?

We value your experience as a short term rental guest, and avid traveler, and we are thrilled to be able to welcome you to one of our homes. Due to the nature of the relationships we maintain with the buildings in which we offer our homes, we’re required to gather a few more details to ensure the safety and security of our communities and their residents. This includes an ID verification process, a criminal background check, and signed rental agreements. We understand this may be an extra step and appreciate your cooperation in helping us provide piece of mind for your new neighbors.


Is my personal information safe & secure?

It most certainly is. We take your privacy as our utmost concern. Your information will never be sold and all information provided by you is used exclusively for security purposes and fraud prevention. All data is submitted using TLS 1.2/SSL level encryption and is only accessed by key members of our staff utilizing two factor authentication. Sensitive data, such as personally identifiable information, is required to be encrypted at rest using 256-bit AES encryption, is protected so that it is never emailed or otherwise transmitted in an insecure way, and is hosted securely on the Microsoft Azure cloud platform, which is PCI (DSS) Level 1 and HIPAA compliant. I am concerned about inputting my credit card on your website.

Don’t be! We partner with Stripe, a third party merchant processor, for credit card processing so that secure payment information is never transmitted or stored by Abode. We also take measures to prevent malicious scripts from stealing this information.
